About Jerilynn

I am a public school teacher with 10 years experience. I hold teaching licenses in Birth through Grade 6. I have extensive knowledge in the Science of Reading and have been trained in LETRS, a course that is accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. I believe in a systematic multi-sensory approach to teaching reading and have been trained in Orton Gillingham, UFLI, and Fundations. I believe in a hands-on approach to mastering mathematical concepts. I guide students to develop their mathematical understanding by solving a variety of problems in ways that make sense to them. As a former 3K teacher, I am well-versed in the Head Start Early Learning Framework, which is based on research about what young children should know to succeed in school. In addition to my educational experience, I am a mother of two boys and understand very well the struggles that may arise when a child is having difficulty with schoolwork.
