Well, hello! I currently work as a Patient Care Technician, nurse's assistant, in Red Bank. I have my BLS, Basic Life Saving, certification and have had to put my skills to use. I have 4 years of previous experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care; I was an Activities Supervisor in the memory care unit at Brandywine Senior Living in Wall. I started out in the kitchen and worked my way up. I really enjoyed my time there with the memory care residents. We enjoyed singalongs, trivia, dancing, reminiscing, arts & crafts, and just celebrating life. I am able to assist with getting your loved one to be as active and self sufficient as possible. I'm an optimist who enjoys life, and appreciates my elders, especially their stories filled with wisdom.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Jen for seven years, and we still keep in touch today. I first met her while my mom, Annie, lived at Brandywine, where I had the opportunity to see Jen grow from the dining room to activities in assisted living and eventually to memory care. Seeing her in each of these roles gave me a unique perspective on the person she is. Jen is dependable, capable, and always willing to go above and beyond. She has all the skills you would hope for in someone caring for others, but Jen has what I call the “caring gene.” Not everyone has it. It’s the natural ability to make people feel seen, valued, safe, and genuinely cared for. I saw Jen interact with my mom and so many other residents with patience, kindness, understanding, and a wonderful sense of humor. As a family member, there is no greater comfort than knowing your loved one is in the hands of someone who truly cares, and Jen gave me that peace of mind every time I saw her with my mom. Anyone looking for someone to care for a loved one would be fortunate to have Jen. Some people can learn caregiving skills. Jen certainly has those skills, but more importantly, she has the heart that makes those skills truly meaningful. She is truly one of a kind, and I will always be grateful for the love, compassion, and joy she brought to my mom, Annie, and to so many others.
