When I was an in home caregiver I care for a young lady with developmental and cognitive delays, she was unable to talk, walk, feed herself etc. I provided all of those needs for her for 4 hours a day while her mom needed to run errands or just needed extra help or a break. I lifted, walked with her, dressed, bathed and brushed her hair, cooked and fed her, spent time with her, listening to music, talking to her etc. I also have been around several adults and children with add/adhd in my regular every day life. I have a cousin (7) who is on the autism spectrum, he's mainly non verbal.
