About Jen

Hi! I'm Jen. I moved to Iowa 6 years ago for my husband's job (we met in the Army in 2000). We have a 20-year-old daughter who renovated and moved into her 1st home over the summer with her significant other. I'm starting my semester of grad school of Social Work and plan to go into substance abuse/therapy or medical social work. As the oldest child, and grandchild, babysitting came naturally to me. I was the neighborhood babysitter and a daycare helper starting at age 11 ($1/hr!). I'm curious, reflective, and creative. I love working with kids because they help me stay grounded and hopeful. Whether I see them once or often, I hope I can leave a positive mark. In my spare time, I love reading, painting, photography, walking, and landscaping. Fun facts: I'm a champion swaddler, expert fort builder, and I love a good dad joke. Feel free to reach out, I'd love to help you get some "me" time!
