About Janie

Hi! I'm Janie and I'm 23 years old, and a full time nanny in the city. I'm interested in making some extra money on the side as well as spending time with kids. I nannied for a family in the city for three months before I moved onto my last job at a start up. However, the office life isn't for me! I enjoyed nannying quite a bit and miss it, and would like to help out with date nights or occasional sitting! I love kids. I've worked with kids in my own community as well as from around the world. I have experience with almost every age. From newborns to toddlers to preteens and older. I have worked for a variety of families, some being close to my family and others being complete strangers. I love to have fun, and whatever your kids find entertaining I can get into. I'm very adaptable - I can easily understand different personalities and interests. Some of my interests (things I like to do while sitting) would be dancing, pretend/acting, and reading stories.

Janie has been our nanny for exactly a year now, and we have been so lucky to have found her. She started when my son was 7 months old (he is now 19 months), and he took to her right from the beginning. She has been an amazing partner in caring for my child. She takes direction very well. She took the initiative to find age appropriate activities for my son, and actively sought out play dates for him. She got him to use sign language, which we struggled to do. She also taught him to sign "please" and "thank you" before it even occurred to me to teach him that myself. She is very responsible and dependable, and has a great energy. I cannot say enough about how great she is. The only reason we are giving her up is that we wanted to start preparing my son for preschool by starting him in daycare now that he's almost two. I highly recommend her.
