I have worked in health care for over 20 years as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working mostly with older adults in the rehabilitation setting. I am a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner and Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional which has provided me with skills in managing dementia and developing strategies for caregivers and families. I have worked as a caregiver for the past 6 years in private homes and also memory care caring for individuals. I have experience with medication management, bathing, personal care, meal preparation and light housekeeping. My approach is to provide dignity and respect to the individual with through thoughtful activities, personal care, exercise, communication and finding joy and meaning to the day. I have also been a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in the hospital setting which has provided me with acute care experience and I hold a QMAP- Qualified Medication Administration Personnel through the state of Colorado.
