I am a RN who's worked in Healthcare my whole life. First as a CNA in a nursing home, an LPN in a group home for severly disabled ladies, an RN for an adult and a pediatric pt on vent and trach. Since then ive spend almost 10 years as a diabetes educator and research nurse. I've also worked in a camp setting since 2013 for the American Diabetes Association which is something I'm very passionate about. Working in someone's home is just more personal than a residential or acute setting. It helps me to be a better care giver and it helps my clients to not only trust me more than a different setting, but also to feel more comfortable. When I work in a home setting I feel as though I am a guest and they are gracious enough to allow me enter and care for them. I'm married living in Queens with 3 cats (carmella catalina and sailor).
