About Jamie

I am a step-mom of two, Licensed Master Social Worker (lmsw) and a graduate of UMB with a Master of Social Work degree. I have worked with and cared for youth experiencing housing instability, family crisis, behavioral issues, truancy issues, and more. My childcare philosophy is built on mutual respect between myself and the young person, regard for their dignity, and honoring their autonomy whenever possible. I believe that difficult behaviors communicate an unmet need of some sort. For this reason, I prefer to redirect undesirable behavior and address the need rather than punish in most cases. I can cook from scratch, read music, care for plants and small gardens, care for pets, and offer some help with homework - though I am much better at English and Social Studies than math or science.
