About James

I've had 20 years of private preparatory school experience as an upper-school teacher and advisor, writing coach and meditation mentor. (I started a meditation program for students and faculty). I've led poetry and translation workshops and meditation study and training (especially to help students with test anxiety). I have over 15 years of experience teaching at the university level (three different institutions): Latin, Greek, Humanities, English. I have a positive attitude, a nurturing personality, and extensive experience teaching neurodivergent adolescents. Recently I've been teaching ESL to adults. I am currently working on a book about literary translation and a second book of poems. I enjoy listening to music, watching mystery programs, and going to museums.
