About Jaleigh

I am a MFA candidate in Poetry at Columbia University with a background in journalism, storytelling, and education. Over the past several years, I've mentored writers, led creative teams, and taught in a variety of settings, from international development projects to ski instruction. What ties all of these experiences together is my passion for creating supportive, inclusive environments where everyone feels empowered to explore language, ideas, and self-expression. I know that every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to meet individual needs with engaging warm-ups, reflection, and applied critical thinking. I'm eager to find new families to work with and know that I can help students strengthen writing skills, improve reading comprehension, and build study habits.
