I started my healthcare career with Developmental Options, caring for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. As their caretaker, I administered medication, assisted with daily activities, guided physical therapy, and helped foster independence through community outings. Working closely with those with mental disabilities taught me patience, perseverance, and understanding--seeing how trust and growth develop over time with consistent support. Shortly after beginning my journey, I learned I was pregnant, and later discovered my son has autism. This experience has deepened my empathy and patience, helping me see the world through my clients' and my son's eyes--to slow down, appreciate the moment, and embrace their unique journeys. These experiences have made me more compassionate and attentive, both as a caregiver and mother, strengthening my ability to connect deeply with others
