What I most want for people to know about myself and my career is that I work with People with Cognitive Differences. What I do best is to provide a Safe, Secure and Healthy Environment for people to be and grow to be their Best Selves. Formally, I am experienced as a Behavior Specialist and Mental Health & Retardation Professional (DHR). I have worked with with seniors, adults, and young persons with varying abilities and needs (Cognitive Changes, Neurological/Developmental Differences, Mental and Physical Health Challenges). Most recently, I have had the privilege of being a Companion & Caretaker to a 90-year-old person with moderate dementia, who is now transitioning into an Assisted Living Environment (4 years). He followed a 9 year relationship as a Live-In with a bright and mentally active nonverbal young adult male with Cerebral Palsy and Quadriplegia. My skills include Behavior Management/Crisis Intervention Certified, Social Skills Training, Care and Welfare Management.
