About Jacob

My name is Jacob, and I am a 22-year-old senior at BU. I am double majoring in Electrical Engineering and International & Public Affairs, which gives me a strong background in both STEM and writing-intensive subjects. I tutor students from 5th grade up to the college level. Whether it's breaking down trigonometric functions, editing a history paper, or prepping for a science exam, I am happy to help. My tutoring style is patient but organized. Verbal explanations, visual sketches, hands-on practice, mnemonics, and guided note-taking are teaching tools I draw on, to name a few. I prioritize clear communication both with my students and their parents. I provide organized review notes after each session so students can study independently, and I send regular updates to parents so you always know what we're focusing on during sessions.
