About Isis

I am a Neuroscience student in New York, but I am from the Bay Area! I have tutored for Reading Partners I want my students to gain confidence in themselves and their learning. I hope to inspire them to not only love learning but to assert themselves in the classroom by asking questions and collaborating with their peers. I'd like to help students achieve long term goals, one small success at a time. I've developed patience and understanding through my experience working in healthcare-De Luna Dental and Mills-Peninsula Medical Center. Such experience taught me how simplify medical procedures into words patients could understand. Pediatric patients would often ask me how things worked. I would explain with different comparisons to guide their understanding, ensuring that they felt comfortable every step of the way. I am able to employ this same skill as a tutor, especially with complex word problems or difficult concepts.
