About Imani

Hello! My name is Imani and I would like to be your tutor. I am currently in the midst of transferring colleges but hope to be beginning my sophomore year at VCU in the winter. I have one year experience tutoring in Math and English at an elementary school level. I believe that learning should be exciting and it's important to have an engaging, supportive, and patient environment. I prefer to listen and observe how students interact with new material, encouraging open communication and parental check-ins. By breaking down problems into manageable steps and celebrating successes, I help students build confidence. Communication is very essential; regular updates keep parents informed and open dialogue allows me to adapt my approach. Seeing a student's confidence grow is the most rewarding part of tutoring. I am comfortable with pets and have a car. I'm CPR and First Aid trained, and eager to help your student thrive! Thank you for taking me into consideration to be your tutor.
