About Ian

Hi my name is Ian. I have not worked as a dedicated child caretaker before. However, I have had many roles in my life in which I have worked with kids in various settings. When I was a teenager I would babysit occasionally for my parents friends with younger kids. Later on, maybe 14/15 I often babysit for my aunt and uncle who had 5 young kids. I became a lifeguard at 16 and had continuous training in CPR and first aid for children and infants. As a YMCA pool lifeguard I worked with kids in a swimming setting, doing low level swim instructing and making sure those who couldn't swim as well were still comfortable in the water. For child caretaking I would take an approach of constantly being vigilant and negating possible dangers for the kids. I would have an approach of being adaptable with each kid, trying to meet the different needs outlined by the parents.
