About Hugo

I'm a native French speaker from Geneva, Switzerland, and have been living in New York City for over four years. I graduated from The New School with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance and work professionally as a drummer in New York and internationally. Having studied and worked in an English-speaking environment, I understand firsthand the challenges of learning a new language and the importance of practicing in a comfortable, supportive space where mistakes are part of the process. Working with musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds has also taught me the value of communication and cultural exchange. As a French tutor, I bring patience, openness, and enthusiasm to my lessons. My goal is to help students feel confident and motivated while learning. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for school or travel, or feel more comfortable speaking French, I tailor my lessons to your needs and make learning engaging, practical, and enjoyable.
