About Helga

Hi families. Taking good care of children is my passion. I have over 6 years experience teaching in a Montessori preschool, ages 2-5, in Seattle, Washington. Most recently, I have held the roles of lead and assistant teacher in several different homeschool pods here in Rincon. In addition, I have babysat for ages 10 months and older. I love spending time outdoors with kids, silly times with song and dance, bedtime routines, mealtimes or exploring arts and crafts/ sensory play. My goal is to approach childcare with curiosity, respect, and love. I like working with kids because our positive influence on them helps to make our world a better place. We were incredibly lucky to have Helga as part of our lives during our month in Puerto Rico. Calling her a “babysitter” doesn’t begin to capture what she brought into our daughter E’s world. Helga was a teacher, a guide, a friend, and a light. She met E with endless kindness, patience, and joy! She created a space where curiosity was celebrated and adventure was encouraged. From exploring tide pools to art projects to learning through play, Helga nurtured E’s spirit in the most beautiful way. She made E feel safe, seen, and loved. And she gave me the peace of knowing that while I was working, my daughter was not just cared for she was thriving. Helga is one of those rare people who becomes unforgettable.
