About Helena

I am a NC State alumnus, earning my Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies Education and a minor in Spanish. I have worked in over 7 public and charter middle schools in North Carolina and Florida, and currently hold an active teaching certificate in both states. I am the seventh of nine children: an early communicator, energetic, patient, and hardworking. I aim to provide all students with the confidence and capabilities needed to succeed so they have the independence to write their own story. All grade level tutoring offered in History , English, and Spanish. As a musician, writer, and artist: I provide all ages beginner guitar, ukulele, voice, and art lessons. I specialize in the neurodivergent learning style through hands on activities and project based learning, while taking into account individual strengths and sensory needs. I am bilingual and most recently taught 7th ELA in both languages to meet the needs of ESL scholars.
