About Heidi

I worked at a memory facility for a little over a year and it was by far my favorite but hardest job I had. I learned how to listen and be patient with the residents, and be their light in all the darkness. I have passed meds, done personal cares, learned different techniques how to work with people with dementia and alzheimer's, some which work for certain people and some that didn't. Making a difference and creating that bond is important. Going with the flow & making the resident feel at home and cared for, loved and important. Listening and validating what the resident says is so important, making them feel heard is so big for them. Being creative and coming up with activities and crafts that they can do, to keep them busy and entertained. Caring for people is something im compassionate about.
