About Genet

I have extensive experience as a Caregiver for children, have my Early Childhood Education certificate, and interned at the Infant-Toddler Center at Santa Monica High School. I have tutored young people from kindergarten (current) to college (SMC student) in English, Writing, Reading, Psychology, Math, Social Studies, and other subjects; I have also worked as a one-on-one Aide (Para Educator 3, Special Education)for the past four years in Santa Monica schools; have worked as an Aide in preschools (SMMUSD), and have trained and worked for three years as a Behaviorist with children on the autism spectrum or with ADHD. I have been sponsored by Open Paths Counseling Center for the past 16 years to facilitate groups in Expressive Arts Therapy with at-risk teens and children (Venice High School, Mark Twain Middle School, Braddock Drive Elementary School), focusing on creative writing and visual arts as tools for self-expression and self-esteem building. I love to work with children, am extremely supportive and positive.
