About Gearran

Hello! My name is Gearran, and I've pretty much been a caretaker my whole life. My mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers when I was 12, and I spent nearly all of my teenage years helping my dad as a full-time caregiver for her. When I got to college, the natural next step was childcare. I've worked multiple summer camps, and spent this past school year doing after-school care. love working with kids, animals, and just people in general! I'm a 3rd year double major in English Lit/Writing and Media. I love arts and crafts and am a self-taught guitarist, which has been useful during summer camps. I'm CPR and first aid certified, and trained in child water safety. I'm also a huge nerd and would have absolutely no problem talking about Spider-Man or Legend of Zelda or Pokémon (etc.) for hours with your kids. I love to learn, and children always have a lot to teach, so I'm a big fan of keeping them engaged and interested instead of just occupied.
