About Fatou

Fatou was a wonderful nanny for our son and his ever-since best friend for two years — from 4 mos to age 2-plus. There are so many things that we appreciate about Fatou. By nature, she is cheerful and outgoing; we really enjoyed spending time with Fatou. She loves to take the boys to the Silver Spring Library, neighborhood parks, indoor play-spaces, music classes, etc. Fatou is also a skilled caretaker. She handles the basics, and takes it upon herself to bathe the children every day and keeps them on a regular nap schedule. But she’s also been helpful with milestones – potty training and getting rid of pacifiers. Over the two years, our boys became fast friends. But when minor issues did arise, Fatou is patient, loving, and firm. She speaks to our children gently and honestly about why they need to share / be more gentle / etc. And they listen! Last of all, Fatou is part of a large network of friends and family who provide daycare services. Whenever Fatou has gone on vacation, or needed to take a sick day, one of her close friends has been available to watch our children. Fatou is reliable. Her English is excellent, but she speaks French as well. We can’t speak more highly of her.
