Growing up my mother was a nurse for UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) and I was luckily invited to go to all the holiday parties with my mother. My best friend had Autism and passed away a few years ago and I couldn't have love someone so much. In 2012 I worked with my first family and the boy was 3 years old and he had autism with a delayed speech. He was the smartest 3-year-old id have ever met. I worked with another family from June 2015 up until October of this year with a 10-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, walking, moving and speech delay. I believe I learned more with him then he did with me. We did everything together... from reading time, walks in the museum, helping with feeding and bathing to homework help and lifting him. For two and a half years I was able to have a best friend who loved me as much as I loved him.
