About Evelyn

Evelyn nannied for us in a nanny share setup for two kids, from the time they were around 8 months until age 2, and will continue on with us until almost 3, when we plan to transition to daycare for socialization. We highly recommend her. Evelyn has been a kind, attentive, and nurturing presence in their lives, and it's hard for us to imagine a version of our kid without her influence. She's proactive about making sure their days are stimulating, with a mix of routine and novel activities, including storytime, new parks, museums, as well as sensory and art activities at home. She plans and executes without any prompting or suggestions by us (but of course getting approval where appropriate). The same extends to snack selection and preparation - the kids get more varied and nutritious snacks than they would if we were planning them ourselves. She also does a good job thinking a step ahead in terms of what the kids will need (e.g. "there's an unseasonably warm week next week; if you have some swimsuits that fit them ready in time, we can do some water play"). She helps with tidying and cleanup around the house, helping to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Most importantly, it's clear how much she loves the kids, and vice versa. She's also occasionally looked after our 5 year old, an managed all three kids with aplomb. We're tremendously grateful that Evelyn has been in our kids' lives, and we're sure she'll be a similarly wonderful presence in the lives of whoever she works with next.
