I also have worked in the same facility for over 13 years in the Special Care Unit at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold Ohio. The Special Care Unit is a Dementia unit. I love helping the elderly and residents who are diagnosed with Dementia. Working with Dementia residents can be very difficult for families. You have to have patience and understanding and a calm vibe to yourself. It's very hard to see a resident going through a tough time. That's why I love being an STNA..
