I have decades of experience as a care giver; in the roles of being a nanny and also working as an executive assistant. I have provided elder companionship as a nursing home volunteer and love to chat with people about their lives and experiences. I love history and media and am curious about peoples lives and stories. 

I live in LA with my husband, our dog, and two kittens. I love to walk and spend a lot of time outside admiring the greenery and architecture of Los Angeles.

Emily was a wonderful caregiver for our twin boys. As first time parents, we benefited from all of the experience she brought. She was patient and reliable, and always punctual. We always felt comfortable that the boys were safe, engaged and learning. She also supported the boys' different personalities and encouraged them to be independent (for example, when the boys would argue over a toy, she would let them try to work it out on their own but would intervene when needed). She took them out regularly to playgrounds and parks, and helped us connect to resources in the community. The boys still love any chance they get to see her.

Emily cared for our daughter from age 8 months to nearly two years. Our little one formed a strong bond with "Emmy" and asked for her often. It was really wonderful to see! Emily is very organized with scheduling, always on time, can diagnose a rash or a cough the first sign, and provided a very predictable daily routine within which our child felt safe to play and explore. I fully recommend Emily!

Emily has worked with my family from the time that my daughter was 6 months old until 2.5 years old when she started preschool.  Because she is so reliable, and our daughter loves her like family, we still work with her for weekend childcare as needed.  Putting my child in Emily's care 5 days a week while I and my husband worked was both hassle-free and anxiety-free.  I never had to question her childcare-style and know that my child is safe, happy and thriving while in her care.  I appreciate how Emily strikes a balance between setting clear boundaries for behavior and teaching my child important lessons about behavior that will enable them to grow into more confidant and independent people.  So for example, hitting another child would warrant an automatic time-away/ time-out from playing, allowing the child to process what had happened and then a check-in about hitting not being safe or kind behavior before the child is allowed to  continue playing.  On the other hand, if Emily is trying to teach a preferred behavior, like taking part in clearing the table after a meal, the child is encouraged to help put dishes in the sink, praised for doing so, redirected if they get off track and celebrated for being a good helper.  I can't recommend her enough as someone to take care of your children!

I meet Emily through my nanny share in November 2013. When that share recently dissolved, I enjoyed working with Emily so much, and saw how my daughter was blossoming with her, that I worked hard to find another family to share with.  

Emily is wonderful with my 1.5 year old.  In our family we find that a schedule, albeit flexible at times, works best for our daughter.  Emily was very in tune with this, and I didn't have to explain much as to when were typical times to eat, nap, etc. Emily is very aware of children's needs and able to anticipate them in advance to avoid, at least in our case, the toddler melt down phase. Also, I am very impressed with how Emily is able to navigate toddler age frustration and takes the time to listen and help my daughter communicate what she wants or what her needs are. 

Emily enjoys being outside, and frequently takes my daughter to the zoo, playgrounds, etc. I also routinely see Emily out with other children that she cares for which is reassuring.   

In terms of working with Emily, she is laid-back, but firm when needed, (we currently have a hitting problem and Emily has been very helpful in redirecting that behavior). She is easy to get in touch with, easy to make a schedule with and her punctuality is impeccable. She also has been very flexible with last minute schedule changes.  

My daughter loves her and it is a comfort to know she is in good hands!

Emily has been taking care of our 10 month old daughter since she was 5 months old and we highly recommend her! Our daughter loves Emily and greets her with smiles. Emily is creative and I often hear them playing music together or singing. They have lots of fun together and Emily is the best at getting her to giggle! She has been great about promoting physical development and reading to her daily. Emily is very reliable - always on time and has never missed a day which is important as my husband and I both work full-time. She is easy to communicate with and when things come up last minute responds to emails quickly. Emily has a lot of experience with infants/children which has been very helpful to us as first time parents - she was able to help us in areas that we had problems like napping and is a good source for navigating new things like starting solid foods.  Emily is quick about figuring things out at home and gets out daily even though we live on a second floor walk-up with a massive stroller. We have discovered a lot of things about our own neighbourhood like baby swings through Emily. Most importantly, we both really like Emily as a person and our daughter has lots of fun with her! We all highly recommend Emily!

Emily is a kind, fun caretaker who loves babies and enjoys spending her day with them.  Any family is lucky to have her help and expertise.

We met Emily through Care.com and were very impressed with her experience and references.  She has many years of childcare experience and has lived in the same town for many years as well.  We really appreciated her stability and her long relationship as a childcare provider in our community.  We have used her, and continue to use her, to watch our two year old daughter.  My husband and I are both musicians with unusual and unpredictable schedules and Emily has been a lifesaver. She has always responded immediately to emails, texts and phone calls - a rare trait - and has bent over backwards to make herself available, even on really short notice.  We have given her name to several friends of ours and they have been really happy with her as well.  We genuinely appreciate Emily as a caregiver and will definitely continue to use her!
