Having been raised by therapists (plus a psychoanalyst grandparent), I am more than familiar with the mental health world and have been given many opportunities to navigate different mental illnesses, neurodivergence and abilities with people close to me and others I've worked beside. My first babysitting job was as a mothers helper for a neighbor's daughter who was fairly low-functioning on the autism spectrum, as one example, and I learned a lot on the job both interpersonally and physically with needing to be prepared with restraint hold knowledge. Since then I've come across many people from all walks of life and have met amazing people in every circumstance. I am someone with chronic health conditions that I manage myself, so am personally knowledgeable in different physical conditions that need someone's support or even just their presence.
