About Emily

Hello! I'm Emily; a CELTA certified English teacher with a BFA. I specialize in teaching English and Art, and I provide academic coaching in Math up through basic Algebra and Geometry. I also have some experience working with students with attention disabilities. My approach focuses on meeting students at their level. I like to allow learners' strengths to set our pace, rather than basing it on my expectations. I value providing a positive learning environment, and building genuine confidence and interest. I actively observe how students engage with new material, allowing me to tailor my methods--whether through visual aids, discussions, or hands-on practice--to suit their unique style. When concepts become challenging, I break them down into manageable steps and connect them to learners' personal interests to keep momentum high. Above all, cultivating my students' love for learning is my greatest goal. I'm excited to meet you!
