About Elizabeth

I was the sole caregiver for my dear mother for the last 15 years. She had Alzheimer's with a slow but steady progression. Her needs were small in the beginning and gradually increased to the point where I was responsible for her every need and want. She was happy and it was my privilege to look after her. Living in her world was the key to her happiness. The last few years were very difficult emotionally. I didn't realize how much until we had home health care come in to help. That led to hospice coming in and sitters that gave me some much needed time to myself. It was hard for me to leave her in someone else's care and trust she would be in good hands. There are good people who want to help. I would like to help someone else, give them the care and attention they need and provide their family with some brief but much needed respite.
