About Elissa

Hi there! I'm here to guide students of all ages, from elementary to high school, through Math, English, Science, Test Preparation, and Study Skills. With four years of experience tutoring children with diverse needs, my focus is on building confidence and fosters a love for learning through individualized support. I initially vary my teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and encourage open communication about what methods work best. Communication with the child AND parents is essential for understanding student needs and setting clear expectations. I aim to connect challenging topics to real-world examples and student interests, making sure to include positive reinforcement. I am CPR and First Aid certified, have a car, and am comfortable with pets. I can tutor at your home, a center, online, the library, a community center, or a coffee shop.
