About Eleanor

I am a Kindergarten teacher, but looking to use my extra time by offering care and friendship to an elder. My grandmother was the closest person in my life and it is really important to me that elderly people are not just left in the shadows. I love learning people's stories and helping to prevent elder isolation is important to me. I like caring for seniors because I love helping to keep their memories alive and make sure they feel seen and loved. This was so important to me with my own grandmother. I'm looking for a job that lets me lend my extra time to provide companionship and care. I started caring for seniors when I was in college in a volunteer position that paired me with an elder to just offer him weekly companionship. I cared full time for my grandmother during the Covid lockdown. During any breaks I had in teaching, I would always go stay with her to give her own caregiver time off.
