I am a graduate sculpture major, artist and nanny, and am enthusiastic about working with children. They keep it real, and I have found I learn just as much from them as I hope they do from me. I have worked as an artist, educator, and caregiver since high school - I have a decade of experience and pride myself on being engaged and creative with children, as well as responsible and patient. Each child is different and I care-give accordingly. I am flexible, loving, naturally playful, and focused on rich development through education, the outdoors, and art. Most recently I have worked for a family here in LA, and their needs have changed as the 5-yr-old will start to attend kindergarten. I have been a nanny for 10+ years ranging from infancy to teen; I also have experience with older children as a violin tutor all through high school as well as a camp counselor. Elana stepped in to our household with confidence and ease about a year and a half ago. She is not only professional and intelligent but also tender and kind, and has developed a special relationship with my 5 year old daughter. She was open to and proactive about working with us to manage some sensory difficulties with our daughter, and was always making sure everyone was aligned, communicative, and sensitive. As an artist, she provides a unique and genuinely wide-eyed outlook on the world that truly sung home to our daughter…all the while being resilient and durable in times that might have been challenging. Not to mention, without request, our home is always tidy and lovely upon her leaving. Any family would be lucky to have Elana!
