About Eileen

I am a retired Special Education teacher with a great deal of experience teaching and tutoring students with dyslexia. I have received certification for teaching reading using the Wilson Reading Program, a highly successful multisensory approach for instruction in decoding and encoding skills In addition to teaching reading at a school for dyslexic students for five years, I taught communication handicapped students at a special school for nine years. Before retiring, I taught Hearing Impaired students at Howell Township Public Schools and Marlboro Township Public Schools. I have worked with students with mild to moderate cognitive impairment as well as gifted students with an autism diagnosis. I feel that it is important to believe that good teaching and an optimistic attitude can help all students reach their full potental.
