About Dorothy May

Hello! I have over a decade of experience incorporating Montessori methodologies, active play, and creative projects to encourage learning and development! Hats that I have worn have been: piano teacher, after school chauffeur, evening babysitter, and the daily nanny and mostly companion. I believe that imagination is super important, and so is maintaining a sense of humor! I have gathered valuable childcare experience in Chicago, Los Angeles, and NYC, and have lived every minute of it! I am very well-versed in managing big emotions, sibling relationships, and handling transitions during the early stages of life, including separation anxiety, handling recent divorce, or changing homes/schools. I am also a big reader, outdoor adventurer, and adaptable home cook who very much has applied the lessons of Ina Gardner.
