Hi! I'm Disha and I have two siblings on the autism spectrum I plan to pursue teaching after college and having siblings on the spectrum is a huge part of why! There should be more educators that are out there with an experince similar to mine. Seeing my mom struggle with putting her trust in schools and teachers because my sister G was nonverbal for a few years was very hard. This even lead to her school being delayed until she found the perfect one which even helped her communicate more! This is why I want to be a a part of the bigger role and help.
