About Diestene

I'm a certified elementary teacher with over 20 years of experience in the classroom, as an administrator and a private tutor. I received my bachelors and masters in education in the UK where I started my career, moving on to teach and lead in schools in the US and South Korea. I specialize in Reading, Language Arts and Math using a child centered approach. I have worked in a variety of settings and taught students with varying needs. I believe in progress over perfection and building strong relationships with my students. This provides an environment where children feel safe, nurtured and secure enough to take the risks to succeed and reach their full potential. I have a structured but balanced approach to learning with clear parameters, goals and objectives so students know what they are learning and how to move forward. I am also certified in trauma informed yoga and meditation so often incorporate mindfulness, movement and breathwork into our schedule where appropriate.
