About Diana

Experience: 10 yrs

COVID-19 vaccinated

I have been working with Heartland of Bedford for eight years, four years as a CNA and four years in assisted living as a medication aide and a resident care coordinator. For part-time work, I take care of an elderly at home weekends, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Taking care of our parents is the only job I know how. I surely enjoy taking care of our parents to make sure that they have a wide smile on their faces which I do most of my life for eight years. It makes me happy too, when I see elderly depending on me and put all their trust and confidence in me, that makes me feel like I am taking care of own parents. That makes me so happy and reflects to my residents wherever I work. Everyone of our parents I have worked with truly trusts me and I love that so very much. So I make sure my residents are in a safe and happy environment. I am always the same whether a new resident or the ones I am used to.

First & Foremost, I highly recommend Diana!! In fact, I can’t recommend her enough. She is an A+++++++ in our books!! Some specific and most common duties that Diana took care of/performed were: -helping my mom with her daily medications. My mom had a feeding tube and Diana always made sure she got her medications and feedings when she was supposed too. She also always kept an eye out for any open wounds, redness/rashes/infections, etc around the feeding tube and made sure it was kept clean inside and out. -she assisted with my mom’s basic needs; such as, showering and grooming. Made sure that my mom was very clean and pristine(toenails & fingernails were trimmed/hair washed, blown-dry and curled, feeding tube area was cleaned, dry, ointment and dressing attached after each shower, brushed her teeth, applied lotion all over to help combat my mom’s dry skin and so on. -Diana also helped with some housekeeping tasks. Made sure my mom’s sheets were washed, dried and clean. Her clothes were the same. In my mom’s later stages, she had to be cleaned and changed; along with her sheets several times a day. Not a problem for Diana as she ALWAYS wanted my mom to be as clean and immaculate as she could be because she knew that my mom was picky and would have wanted that. -Diana is also very observant. She watched for things with my mom that may have changed/that might be different from my mom’s normal behavior. Because of Diana’s experience, she was able to usually catch a UTI before they got out of hand. Diana is very cognizant that UTI’s can occur in many elderly/those chronically ill; thus, she takes extra care and precautions in trying to prevent them. She always made sure that my mom was very clean and dry in that area and that my mom NEVER sat in urine for one minute; even when she was sleeping. -Diana took my mom out for walks daily. She would also drive my mom around just to get her out of the house, to get sunlight and fresh air. Would sit outside with her on the patio swing. Would play my mom’s favorite musics on Alexa and would sing and dance with my mom. Would rub my mom’s head/arms/legs/feet for her. When my mom became a bit more combative and not as cooperative, Diana always came up with ideas and would adjust them, on the fly, to try and make things easier on my mom. She would also speak to my mom just about “everyday” life to try to create and maintain some sense of normalcy for my mom….whether it be talking about her children and things going on with them or my mom’s grandchildren or funny things that had happened or things that were going to take place; such as, her Drs appointment that day, etc. -On top of all of these tasks, Diana is a VERY empathetic, patient, positive and prayerful person. It didn’t matter how many times my mom needed to be changed or how many times my mom pinched her or how difficult my mom got in her latter stages of life, Diana never flinched or wavered. She was still always the same patient/kind/caring/prayerful person. -She communicated with us very effectively. She always let us know when mom was going to be out of something soon, so that it gave us time that we would need to order. Always letting us know and the Drs, home health, PT, ST, etc. if she thought something was different/had changed with mom or was a concern that she might have with mom. Diana always put my mom first. It was never about us(myself, etc.), but ALWAYS about my mom and her needs and what was best for her. Besides myself and my husband, she was one of my mom’s best advocates, which I absolutely loved and appreciated!! -Diana listened actively. She noticed visual cues, as I stated above. She was also very good at collaborating and coordinating with others and working as a team. For example, in my mom’s later days, we had 24/7 continuous care. It was Diana who helped me in finding other WONDERFUL caregivers to assist me and my mom. It was Diana who was considered the main caregiver and thus, she coordinated it all!! Never had any issues with the 3 of them and again, they were all about my mom and HER needs, NOT their own!! They were truly all such God-given BLESSINGS for our family. In conclusion, having seen Diana on a basically daily basis, in her element, with her talent, her experience and her capabilities, I can honestly recommend her without any reservations whatsoever!! Diana is a gift and was meant to be where she is helping others. Thankfully and Gratefully, she is sharing it with others and we were fortunate enough to be blessed to have her!! Having said all of the above; in hopes of helping other families and their loved ones, in their time of need, as I understand the difficult undertaking and tasks that is required to make sure their loved one is taken care of in the best possible manner and with no additional fear or worrying. I wish u all nothing but the best during these times with ur loved one and with ur searching. It is truly people like Diana that make getting thru these times a bit less difficult. May God Bless You All!!
