During my time as a teach in Korea, I had 1:1's with elementary students (age 7-12) for 45 minutes each day. A typical session focused on reading, grammar, pronunciation, or conversational English. The first half would consist of reading an article/book and answering questions based off of the article. This was a way to introduce new vocabulary, check grammar, or go over mispronounced words. The later half would be more of a free period. My students and I would often play games together, draw, read books, etc. I would incorporate an activity that they would enjoy and that would require us to speak more to each other :)
