Desiree might be the most impactful educator and caregiver my son will ever experience. Our son is non-verbal and on the autism spectrum and kids like him need a different level of care. Desiree sees kids like mine and always presumes competence. She is engaging and warm, firm but kind, and people of all ages are drawn to her wonderful energy. I'd call what she has 'magic' but that minimizes her abilities and effect on kids and young adults. True, she's naturally a people person but she has also dedicated her professional life to finding ways to engage and challenge kids like mine to work to their true abilities. We wouldn't trust just anybody with our son and it's so rare to find someone like Desiree who has deep knowledge and practice in caring for our most vulnerable kids while also being fun! Any family would be so blessed to have her.
