About Desiree

Desiree worked with our family for approximately five months in a near full-time capacity. She was consistently pleasant, organized, and reliable in carrying out her responsibilities. We appreciated her professionalism, her foundational knowledge of child development, and her sincere desire to support our son with feeding and our daughter with early literacy activities. One area that required ongoing attention was communication. While Desiree presented as warm and open during the interview process, we occasionally observed moments where engagement or communication became more limited. When we checked in to ensure she felt supported or had the resources she needed, she often preferred to process independently. In our household, open dialogue and real-time communication are important to maintaining alignment, so this occasionally created challenges in navigating daily needs and expectations. Desiree shared that she naturally prefers working directly with children rather than engaging extensively with adults, and over time we noticed occasional communication mismatches that were attributed to misunderstanding. Additionally, she tended to gravitate toward tasks such as organizing, cleaning, and preparing activities, though with feedback and coaching she became more intentional in prioritizing direct engagement with our children. We also noted the importance she placed on departing promptly at the scheduled end of her shift, which at times limited flexibility during transition moments in the evening routine. Overall, Desiree is professional, thoughtful, and well-intentioned in her work. While her style may be well-suited to environments that favor structure, independence, and task focus, our family ultimately requires a more communication-driven and highly interactive dynamic. For this reason, the role was not the right long-term fit, though we appreciate the care and effort she brought during her time with us.
