Hi! My name is Zoey and I am a UNCW graduate, with a degree in Education of Young Children (birth-kindergarten). My experience includes two years as an assistant kindergarten teacher at DC Virgo Preparatory Academy, completing my internship at Island Montessori Children's School, and being lead teacher in a 1-year-old classroom at Spark Academy. I would love the opportunity to provide early care and education to a family in Wilmington! My philosophy is very Reggio-Emilia oriented, although I am also very interested in the Montessori approach. I believe children learn more if their education is based on their interests and functional life skills. My degree in early childhood gives me knowledge of children's development and age appropriate teaching practices. I am pregnant with my first child, due in May 2025. I am looking to work for a family that is comfortable with me caring for my own child, as well as theirs. I am willing to do this in my home, or yours!
