About Denise

I'd describe my personality as patient, encouraging, and flexible. I like tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to help students gain confidence in concepts that were challenging. I support their individual needs and offer personalized instruction. Tutoring helps to encourage lifelong learning. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to build meaningful relationships and help students in their academic and personal growth. I started tutoring when I saw how much individual help students need outside of the classroom to better their skills. In my spare time, I like to read, write poetry, hike, camp, and watch baseball. One thing you should know about me is that I believe that all learning is rooted in social and emotional learning. Giving students strategies to support themselves helps them across all subjects and challenges in life. My skills include tailoring lessons, creating a supportive environment, and strong communication skills.
