About Denise

I'd love to help your kindergartener, 1st or 2nd grader with fun reading activities and skill work. I am a 40 year primary teacher from Connecticut, I taught kindergarten, 1st grade as well as a blended k/1/2 classroom. In SC I. worked as a reading resource teacher and recently retired. I have also been a supervisor of student teachers. I have a bachelors degree in child development and a masters degree in reading. I love helping young children on the road to reading! Because I use many different resources, and because it's tricky transporting all of the materials Services I provide include: pre and post assessments, reading readiness work (letter/sound recognition), phonemic awareness, sight word acquisition, phonics, fluency, reading, comprehension and writing.
