About Dena

I am a kindergarten teacher at a private school in the Shoreline area and a graduate student from Whitworth University. I earned my degree in Elementary Education and am completing a master's degree in Social Emotional Learning. This is my sixth year teaching, and prior to kindergarten I taught both first and second grade, giving me a strong understanding of early childhood development across multiple age levels. Teaching kindergarten takes a special blend of patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of how young children learn, and it is a role I truly thrive in. I bring intentional, developmentally appropriate strategies to support students in building confidence with early literacy, foundational math, and writing, while also nurturing their social-emotional growth and love of learning. I am confident that my skills, enthusiasm, and background working with young learners make me a strong fit for your child!
