I usually use a company that sends a different cleaner to the house each time and they usually take 3 hours to clean the first floor of my home (one cleaner). I decided to look for a housekeeper that would come weekly to clean the first floor plus laundry-someone I could get to know and use more frequently if needed. Deborah was very friendly and personable when we met with her prior to our trial house cleaning. Her rate was $30 per hour. When asked how long it would take to clean she wouldn’t really say but we gave it a shot. I wouldn’t mind if she took 5 hours to clean if she did a good job. But she took 9 HOURS for the first floor of my house that normal takes one cleaner 3 hours to do. Her work was subpar. She did not even fold my laundry in the 9 hours she was there, which was one of the things we discussed during her visit. She also had mentioned how dirty my fan was and that she was gonna work from top to bottom-guess what after 9 hours it was still dirty!! I even did most of the dishes before I left for work before her cleaning. I don’t want to make this a super long post so will cut it short. Bottom line-either she truly struggled with doing her job and lost track of time, or she intentionally dragged on the hours and still ended up doing a worse job than the cleaners I usually get that do in a third of the time. If you decide to hire her, would recommend setting very clear expectations and a cap on the hours she will be working per cleaning
