About Cynthia

I am a caretaker of children because human connection and helping others to grow is where I shine brightest and is the part of my life that I take the most pride in. I am routines-based and consistent by nature and love to interact verbally and playfully with children. Taking care of little ones is my 'happy place' and is the most meaningful work that I can imagine doing with my skill set. In terms of my caretaking philosophy, first and foremost, I believe in meeting a child where they're at by paying close attention to their verbal and nonverbal cues. I stay well-attuned to where they are emotionally, cognitively and physically in order to allow them to feel seen and heard and to build trust. Once built, that trust opens the potential for limitless growth and guidance. One of my favorite quotes on working with children is Maria Montessori's philosophy of "Never do for a child what a child can do for themselves". I see skill-building as a large component of a child's development
