About Crystal

Contrary to popular belief, math isn't just for "math people"! Through earning a B. A. in Mathematics and currently pursuing my master's, I've learned that I love helping students discover that success in math is achievable, no matter who you are. I believe every student learns differently, and my goal is to help each one build confidence while reaching their full potential. I've worked both with grade-school and college students, and I enjoy making math feel more accessible through patience, encouragement, and clear explanations. I take the time to understand how each student learns best, and I do my best to help in ways that are both engaging and personalized. I also believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I love the feeling when a student says, "ohhh, that makes sense!" after struggling with a difficult concept. I can't wait to help you (or your student) realize that you too can become a "math person"!
