About Cortez

I bring a strong background in health, wellness, and service to my role as a caregiver. Caring for others has always been familiar to me--my mother worked as a caregiver throughout most of my childhood, providing support that ranged from personal care to dementia assistance, as well as working with mental disabilities. Watching her compassion, patience, and dedication firsthand gave me an early appreciation for the importance of this work. Caregiving has been a meaningful part of my family's values, and that foundation stayed with me as I pursued higher education. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel with a focus in Health, Exercise, and Sports Science, which gave me a strong understanding of physical wellness, mobility, and overall health. My background has also helped me develop patience, communication, reliability, and the ability to support people with dignity and respect. I take pride in creating a safe, caring, and positive environment for those I serve.
