Experience: 10 yrs
Since 2010, I've provided professional care in nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation, hospice, and private home settings. I specialize in Alzheimer's and dementia care, companionship, transportation, ADLs, mobility assistance, and safe transfers, including Hoyer and stand-up lifts. I believe great caregiving begins before the first task. I take time to get to know the person behind the diagnosis-their story, routines, personality, and what makes them feel like themselves. My goal is to help them remain as true to who they are as possible while giving families peace of mind. As a singer and guitarist, I also use music when appropriate to encourage connection, comfort, and meaningful moments. I strive to provide care with patience, dignity, kindness, and genuine companionship. I'd be honored to learn how I can support your loved one.
Claude was our 83 yr old b-i-law “Joe”’s Caregiver for almost 18 months. Joe’s dementia was at the stage that he sometimes could get quite agitated but Claude had several ways to calmly redirect him: sometimes he’d ask Joe what songs he liked and then he’d softly play the music on his guitar-sometimes Joe would even sing along! Claude usually had his tablet with him and Joe would sometimes fall asleep watching an old Western that he loved. They would sit and look at pictures in scrapbooks and Joe would relive his Army days when he was stationed in Europe. Claude’s years of experience with dementia patients included so much more than physical care and giving meds. Claude is, by nature, a compassionate and kind man and he became a wonderful companion to Joe. We worry about our loved ones as they age – especially if they have physical limitations. We always knew Joe was safe and in good hands with Claude.
